Alstom: set to take over Bombardier Transport?
(CercleFinance.com) - Oddo BHF reinstates its "buy" rating rating on the Alstom share, along with its target price of 47 euros, at a time when it appears to be in talks regarding a simple takeover of Bombardier Transport, according to BFM news, specifying that the Canadian group may also be in talks with Hitachi.
The broker reports that Alstom is considering paying 3.5 billion euros in cash, according to BFM, and would issue 1.5 billion euros in shares to pay CDPQ (which owns 30% of Bombardier Transport).
All of these details seem provisional, as discussions are underway, although Bombardier will publish its results on 13 February, when it may give its opinion on the matter, the analyst adds, for whom a deal could be attractive.
