Alstom: contract to build future metro line in Abidjan

(CercleFinance.com) - Ivory Coast authorities have concluded plans to finalise the route of future Metro Line 1 in Abidjan.


Thirty seven kilomètres long, the metro line will serve 18 stations from the North (Anyama Centre Station to the South (Airport Station) of the Ivory Coast capital.

Alstom Métropolis (twenty five-car trains) is equipped with the latest generation Communication-Based Train Control (CBTC) system. This technology enables maximum safety and extremely fluid service.

This overground metro requires the construction of 24 bridges, one viaduc on a lagoon, 34 passenger walkways and 8 underground passages.

The cost of construction of the metro is 1.36 billion euro.
