Alstom: wins E315m contract in Mumbai
(CercleFinance.com) - Alstom Group has announced winning a contract worth approximately 315 million euros, for the supply of 248 metro wagons for line 3 of the Mumbai Metro.
This contract has been awarded by Mumbai Metro Rail Corporation Limited (MMRCL). The Metro line 3 will connect - via 26 underground stations and one at street level - the business district of Cuffe Parade to the southern edge of the city, to SEEPZ1 in the north.
This contract is the largest rolling stock contract won by Alstom in the urban sector in India and includes the design, delivery and commissioning of 31 light, modern and fully equipped passenger trains, each consisting of 8 carriages. Alstom will also be responsible for training the operation and maintenance personnel of the Mumbai metro line 3 systems.
