Alstom: contract for a control solution in Norway
(CercleFinance.com) - Alstom announces that it has won a contract with Norway's railway authority, Bane NOR, to equip the entire Norwegian fleet of trains with an on-board ERTMS train control solution, with the group set to maintain the system for 25 years.
This contract, which is worth over 150 million euros, includes several framework contracts for 14 owners of rolling stock, negotiated by Bane NOR, to cover the series installation of the solution on board 467 trains, which are of 55 different types.
The solution offered is based on Alstom's Atlas range of ERTMS solutions. Serial train equipment will begin in 2021, with the first trains set to operate on Norwegian lines in 2022. The entire fleet will be equipped by September 2026.
