Alstom: big contract on the cards for Grand Paris Express

(CercleFinance.com) - There is a big contract on the cards for rail equipment supplier Alstom, with Société du Grand Paris (SGP) yesterday announcing that the contract for the rolling stock of the future lines 15, 16 and 17 of the Grand Paris Express metro is entering its final stage.

After a call to tender and with the final decision approaching, Alstom is tipped as the winner, said a statement issued by SGP yesterday.

For the moment, no amount has been disclosed.

For the record, the procedure in question began in 2014. With a total of around 1,000 wagons, the trains of the three lines (up to 133 long trains with six wagons for line 15, and up to 50 short trains of three wagons for lines 16 and 17) will be fully automatic and can reach top speeds of 110 km/h.

The authority that organises transport for the Paris region - Ile-de-France Mobilités - is 100% behind this investment, SGP added.
