Alstom: presents new locomotive in Belfort.
(CercleFinance.com) - Alstom announced on Monday that it has presented its first Prima M4 passenger locomotive for Azerbaijan Railways (ADY) in Belfort.
10 Prima M4 passenger locomotives (AZ4A) are currently being made on this site as part of a contract awarded by ADY in 2014.
The locomotives will operate on both 25 kV AC, 50 Hz for the east-west corridor and on 3 kV DC for the north-south corridor. They can also travel at speeds of 160 km/h in passenger services, with longer intervals between maintenance and repair, reduced power consumption and maintenance costs, and more efficient fleet management.
