Alstom: talks confirmed with Siemens.
(CercleFinance.com) - The rumour has now been confirmed.
In a statement issued after trading on Friday, Alstom confirmed information from press reports that it is in negotiations with Siemens for a potential merger with the "Mobility" division of the German conglomerate Siemens.
"No final decision has been made, discussions are still ongoing and no agreement has been reached", Alstom said however, which will inform the public of any significant future developments.
In April, Bloomberg had referred to discussions towards a merger between the "Siemens Mobility" division and Bombardier Transport. Bloomberg yesterday said that Siemens was also in talks with Alstom at the same time, although at present these talks had had not lasted as long.
