Alstom: delivers first VLR Citadis X05 to Sydney.
(CercleFinance.com) - Alstom has delivered the first of 60 Citadis X05 light rail vehicles (LRVs) to Transport for New South Wales (TfNSW) in Sydney, Australia, as part of the CBD and South East Light Rail project.
“The new vehicles will provide considerable benefits for the city of Sydney by reducing the dependency on motor vehicles and buses, reducing greenhouse emissions and noise pollution,” Alstom confirmed.
Currently, Alstom's Citadis light rail vehicles are in operation in over 50 cities worldwide. The Citadis X05 model was first produced for Sydney, although will soon be deployed in other cities, including Nice and Avignon.
