Alstom: delivery of Euroduplex trainsets to the SNCF.
(CercleFinance.com) - Alstom announced on Thursday afternoon that it has delivered new generation Euroduplex trainsets to SNCF Mobilités for a commercial launch on the new "l'Océane" line between Paris and Bordeaux (Gironde).
This line will become operational as from 2 July.
As a two-tiered train from the Alstom TGV Avelia range, Euroduplex has 556 seats, instead of the current 509, including 4 seats for people with reduced mobility. In terms of equipment, in addition to WiFi, it is also provided with a new passenger information system, new real-time information screens about the journey as well as a place to put bicycles.
Meanwhile, the bar carriage has been completely redesigned to bring more light thanks to a more open counter, and a brand new area also enables on-train catering. Its features will also include the the installation of a vending machine.
