Alstom: inauguration of metro in Cochin.
(CercleFinance.com) - At the weekend Alstom announced the inauguration of the metro in Cochin, a project that amounts to 150 million euros, which includes the first Alstom metro systems that have been fully designed in Bangalore and manufactured in Sri City, India.
Each metro train delivered to Kochi Metro Rail Limited will carry up to 975 passengers and will offer 136 seats, with wide aisles and a longitudinal configuration of the seat that will enable passengers to move from one end of the train to the other.
Alstom's Urbalis 400 solution will control the movement of trains with precision. Alstom has also provided the telecom solution, including the 750VDC solution powered by a third rail, as well as the associated SCADA system.
