(CercleFinance.com) - Eiffage announces that Ailes Marines (a subsidiary of Iberdrola) has awarded Eiffage, in a consortium with Engie Solutions, the contract to build an electrical transformer substation for the wind farm off the Bay of Saint-Brieuc in Brittany.
Located 16.3 km off the French coast, this wind farm will cover an area of 75 km², with a total power of 496 MW and will produce 1,820 GWh per year, equivalent to the annual electricity consumption of 835,000 people.
The substation will be made up of a 1,630-tonne, 63-metre high jacket and 315-tonne piles. It will also include a topside structure of approximately 3,400 tonnes. Engineering and construction work has already begun.
