Engie: acquires a portfolio of wind projects
(CercleFinance.com) - Engie announces the acquisition of a portfolio of onshore wind projects for nearly 500 MW.
This deal is via the purchase of 100% of SAMEOLE's shares, which is an independent developer of wind projects in France.
"This acquisition reinforces ENGIE's leading position in the onshore wind energy market with 1,900 MW of capacity installed in France. The group's ambitions are indeed very high, with a target of developing 3 GW of wind energy and 2.2 GW of solar energy by 2021."
SAMEOLE has developed a portfolio of wind projects in 7 regions, mainly in north-west and south-west France. There are 20 developers in the team, who are spread across four territorial agencies in Caen, Toulouse, Valence and Pacé (Brittany).
