Engie: takes over Langa in Brittany

(CercleFinance.com) - Engie this morning announced the acquisition of the company Langa, a company that generates electricity from renewable resources, which is based in Brittany.

The financial terms of this deal were not revealed.

Present in solar, wind, biogas and biomass, Langa has an installed generation capacity that should, by the end of 2018, reach 215 MW, including 165 MW in solar and 39 MW in wind farms. Furthermore, the group also develops 1.3 GW projects that will see the light in 2022, it added in a statement.

Broker Bryan Garnier estimates that Langa generated about 75 million euros in revenues in 2017, with EBITDA of 15 million euros, and that the acquisition led to a cash outlay of 150 million to 200 million euros for Engie.

Only "marginal" at the group level, however this acquisition follows those of Solaire Direct in 2015, Maia Eolis in 2016 and the buyout of LCV minority shareholders a year ago. In France the energy group intends to raise its installed solar capacity from around 900 MW at present, to 2.2 GW in 2021, analysts point out.
