Engie: commissioning of an electric line in Chile.

(CercleFinance.com) - Equally owned by Engie and Red Electrica International, Transmisora Eléctrica del Norte (TEN) has commissioned the first power line between Mejillones (Antofagasta region, Chile) and Cardones (Atacama region), we learned this Wednesday.
With a total power of 500 kiloVolts, this line is over 600 kilometres long.

"The interconnection between the SING (Norte Grande Interconnected System) and the SIC (Central Interconnected System) networks is an unprecedented achievement for Chile and marks the beginning of a new stage in the history of national electricity distribution which will create a single, more robust, competitive system," Engie commented.

This line crosses five municipalities in two regions of Chile and has 4 electric substations: two terminals are located in Mejillones and Copiapó, a transformer substation is in Mejillones (Changos sector) and a substation in Diego de Almagro.
