bioMérieux: takes over Astute Medical
(CercleFinance.com) - bioMérieux has announced the acquisition of Astute Medical, a company that improves the diagnostics of patients who risk developing severe complications of vital organs.
In particular, Astute has developed the "Nephrocheck" test, which is accredited by the FDA for early assessment of the risk of acute kidney failure, which is based on the dosage of two biomarkers. bioMérieux has distributed this test on the Astute140 Meter system in the United States since 2017.
bioMérieux has agreed to acquire all of the capital for about 90 million dollars in cash. Operational costs related to the acquisition could have an impact of about -60 basis points on its contributory current operating income in 2018.
