Tarkett: to make a loss in 2017 due to a fine.
(CercleFinance.com) - The Tarkett share is down over 4% this morning, making it the second biggest faller on the SBF 120, after the flooring specialist said yesterday that its interim results (to be published in the evening of 26 July) will suffer - along with its FY 2017 accounts.
At issue: a provision of 150 million euros, which will be booked in the group's H1 accounts, to cover the fine that will result from an investigation by French competition authorities.
This authority has not yet delivered its verdict and the exact amount of the fine is not known at this stage.
This procedure follows an investigation that has been ongoing since March 2013 against several manufacturers of floor coverings on the French market. This investigation concerns former practices dating back to 1990, for which the company received a notification of grievances, the company said, without providing any further details.
