Iliad: takes stake in Irish group eir
(CercleFinance.com) - Iliad has announced the acquisition for approximately 320 million euros, of a 31.
6% minority stake in eir, an integrated fixed and mobile operator that has the largest fiber optic network in Ireland, alongside NJJ, Xavier Niel's private holding company.
The parent company of Free also has the option of taking control of the company, through the exercise of a call option exercisable in 2024, covering 80% of NJJ's stake (i.e. 26.3% of eir's capital).
For its fiscal year ended 30 June 2017, eir had turnover of 1.3 billion euros, with adjusted Ebitda of 520 million euros. This deal, which is set to be finalised in the first half of 2018, will require approval from regulatory authorities.
