Orange: favourable decision regarding E2.3bn tax dispute
(CercleFinance.com) - Via a statement late on Friday, Orange is delighted with the Conseil d'État's ruling in its favour regarding tax litigation initiated almost ten years' ago.
This ruling definitively closes the case and will enable Orange to recuperate the sums it paid in July 2013, representing about 2.2 billion euros.
The group "plans to allocate these funds in a fair and balanced manner in a way that will benefit the development of the company, its employees and its shareholders," the company said.
Once the payment is received, the amount - principal and interest - will be recorded as un produit d'impôt courant and will serve to reduce the company's debt. The amount received will not be subject to tax.
