Orange: electricity contract with Boralex
(CercleFinance.com) - Orange France announces the signature of a renewable power purchase agreement (Corporate PPA) with Boralex, a pioneer in renewable energies and France's leading independent producer of onshore wind power.
The company will supply Orange with 67 GWh/year of electricity, produced by the 26 wind turbines of the Ally-Mercoeur wind farm (Auvergne Rhône-Alpes), a wind farm with an installed capacity of 39 MW. The five-year contract will come into effect on 1 January 2021.
When it presented its “Engage 2025” strategic plan, the telecom operator set itself the target of anticipating GSMA's targets by 10 years, with a net zero carbon footprint by 2040 - and this, despite the increase in network data.
