Orange: invests in an Ethiopian start-up
(CercleFinance.com) - Orange Digital Ventures Africa has announced its latest investment, by leading the financing round of the start-up Gebeya, a company based in Ethiopia, working to train African talents in technology and their placement in companies.
Orange wants to support Gebeya in the search for commercial opportunities, including with its subsidiaries in Africa (its West African subsidiary Sonatel is already one of the start-up's clients) and support its expansion in French-speaking Africa.
Over the three years following its creation, Gebeya has enabled over 600 "techy" talents to validate its training program; 45% of these people have already found a job through its platform.
