Orange: to deploy 'Gironde Haut Mega'
(CercleFinance.com) - Orange today announces that it has signed a public service delegation agreement for the deployment of the public initiative optical network in Gironde, and which is called Gironde Haut Mega.
The largest departmental site in France, Gironde Haut Méga will be deployed until 2023. In the space of 6 years, over 410,000 households, businesses, public services and communities, spread throughout France, may be connected to fiber optic.
The Gironde will be irrigated by a network of 28,800 km of optical fiber, covering 9,375 km2, which is almost the entire area of the department.
This investment will cost 669 million euros, including public funding of 115 million euros.
