Renault: Carlos Ghosn flees Japan
(CercleFinance.com) - Ousted chairman of Renault, Nissan and Mitsubishi, Carlos Ghosn has left Japan where, under investigation for several charges, he was under house arrest.
"I am now in the Lebanon", he stated in a release issued last night.
"I am no longer a hostage of a rigged Japanese legal system where the presumption of guilt, and discrimination are rife, and human rights are flouted, in complete contravention of international laws and treaties ratified by Japan and to which the country is committed" Ghosn declared, adding "I did not flee justice, I have escaped injustice and political persecution".
Ghosn also stated that he would contact the media next week, something he has been unable to do up to now.
