Renault: Luca de Meo set to become CEO
(CercleFinance.com) - Luca de Meo is expected to take up the position as Renault's CEO, says La Vanguardia, with Renault having proposed his name.
The director of Seat was trained at the prestigious University of Bocconi, says Aurel BGC. He could be appointed as CEO for a period of two years, before taking over in charge of the Renault - Nissan - Mitsubishi Alliance, analysts add.
Currently CEO of Volkswagen's Spanish subsidiary, the Italian Luca De Meo is neither an engineer nor French, although he does speak French and has spent his entire career - which he started at Renault - in the automobile industry.
According to Les Echos, a decision should be taken at the end of the year, or else at the start of 2020.
