Renault: FT says Nissan doesn't want Senard as chairman

(CercleFinance.com) - According to a report published by the British Financial Times, Jean-Dominique Senard, the new chairman of the Renault group, may not be welcomed as chairman of Nissan.

Indeed, the special committee on Nissan's governance does not seem to want to recommend Jean-Dominique Senard as head of the Japanese car maker, so as to avoid a concentration of powers in the Renault-Nissan-Mitsubishi Alliance. As was the case at the time of Carlos Ghosn, then chairman and CEO of the Renault Group and chairman of Renault, Nissan and Mitsubishi.

This point is far from anecdotal for the future of the Alliance: indeed, Renault and the French State would very much like to see Jean-Dominique Senard take charge of Nissan.
