Renault: Nissan to request that Carlos Ghosn leaves

(CercleFinance.com) - Japanese car maker Nissan has confirmed, that after an internal investigation lasting several months, it has noted that Carlos Ghosn has taken steps to seemingly reduce the actual amount of his remuneration.

Nissan, which confirms that it is fully collaborating with investigations led by the Japanese authorities, also announced that its CEO, Hiroto Saikawa, will propose that the Nissan Board of Directors terminates the Carlos Ghosn's functions within Nissan. Ghosn, who also heads the Renault group (which owns 43% of Nissan) had taken control of the then struggling Japanese car maker at the end of the 1990s.

Logically, the Renault stock has been very badly hit by this news: it is currently down 11% in Paris, reaching its lowest point since 2015.
