Renault: partnership with Powervault in batteries.
(CercleFinance.com) - Renault and Powervault have announced a partnership to turn the batteries of electric vehicles into residential storage units, a collaboration which will reduce the cost of Powervault's intelligent batteries by 30%.
Powervault is launching a test with 50 units, consisting of second-generation batteries supplied by Renault, in customer's homes that are already equipped with solar panels, in the UK.
In addition to reducing the production cost of the Powervault system, the use of second-generation batteries helps optimise the life cycle of Renault batteries before they are recycled.
