BNP Paribas: reduces stake in Euronext.
(CercleFinance.com) - Société Générale and BNP Paribas announce that they have completed the sale of their excess stakes in Euronext following the renewal for a further two years of the Reference Shareholders Agreement which is due to expire on 20 June 2017.
The two banks have sold approximately 4.4 million Euronext shares at a price of 45 euros, representing around 6.3% of the capital, as part of a private placement through an accelerated book-building process among institutional investors.
Once this placement is complete, BNP Paribas and SocGen will hold 2.22% and 1.5% respectively of the capital of the pan-European stock-exchange group. The settlement and delivery of the shares is set to take place on 16 June.
