Dassault Systèmes: new project at German shipyard
(CercleFinance.com) - On Friday Dassault Systèmes announced that German shipyard Meyer Werft has used its product development software platform to design a new luxury cruise ship.
The ship, which is set for its maiden voyage next year, weighs 144,000 tonnes and has a capacity of 1,250 passengers. It will run on liquefied natural gas (LNG), a fuel considered less polluting.
Meyer Werft - a longstanding client - used the engineering, product lifecycle management and automated production functionalities included in the "3DExperience" operating system.
Dassault Systèmes also used two industrial solutions dedicated to the marine and offshore industries, "Designed for Sea" and "Optimized Production for Sea".
