Lagardère: towards sale of television channels
(CercleFinance.com) - Lagardère has announced its entry into exclusive negotiations with M6 to sell its television channels Gulli (and its international versions), Canal J, TiJi, Elle Girl TV, MCM, MCM Top, RFM TV, and associated advertising departments.
In 2017, the television division's consolidated pro-forma revenues and operating profit (excluding Mezzo) reached 98 million euros and 20.6 million euros respectively. The project will be subject to approval by the CSA and competition authorities.
For Lagardère, this deal comes as part of the company's desire to continue developing its publishing and travel retail divisions, so as to give them all the means to be of lasting importance amongst the world leaders in their sectors.
