Vivendi: acquisition of Editis authorised
(CercleFinance.com) - The French Competition Authority (AC) announced on Wednesday that it was able to rule out any competition concerns regarding Vivendi's acquisition of the Editis group, which publishes and markets literary works.
Currently controlled by the Spanish group Planeta, Editis owns thirteen publishing houses, using 44 brands including Plon, Robert Laffont, Bordas and Nathan. On 9 November, it also announced the acquisition of the publishing house, Héloïse d'Ormesson.
After analysing the different parties' market shares, the organisation of the relevant markets and the competitive pressure exerted, the AC considered that the transaction was not likely to harm competition and thus authorised it without conditions.
