Vivendi: Oddo hails development in Asia 'pertinent'

(CercleFinance.com) - This morning an analyst at Oddo BHF comments on Bloomberg's article that Vivendi is in talks to acquire a 49% stake in MNC Vision, the leader in pay-TV in Indonesia.
if completed, would be relevant in the long run, the broker says.

This deal would enable Canal+ to round out its operations in Asia (876,000 subscribers in Q3). The group is present in Vietnam (with its K+ offer, of which it holds at 49% but which is consolidated - VSTV is the local partner) and in Burma (offer launched in January 2018 with its local partner Forever). The bulk of subscribers are in Vietnam (about 60,000 subscribers in Burma) This continental strategy is relevant as it enables the group to position itself on many rights at this level (including sports) (...) A presence in Indonesia would surely be a key asset to secure certain content from US federations and studios. The Indonesian market would then be the largest on which Canal+ is active in Asia, Oddo BHF says.

The analyst has reinstated his buy rating on the stock, along with a target price of 26.60 euros, which suggests upside potential of 27%.
