Casino: H1 underlying OP up 12.9%

(CercleFinance.com) - Casino has published a normalised net loss, group share of -16 million euros for the first half of 2019, compared with +46 million euros a year ago, with group underlying operating income excluding tax credits of 347 million euros, up 12.
9% in organic terms.

The food retail group reported H1 organic sales growth of 3.5% at 17.8 billion euros, with comparable growth accelerating in France in Q2 to +0.7% (+0.7 point compared to Q1).

Casino has confirmed its targets for FY 2019 in France, judging the reduction in capex and the action plans on inventories (down by 105 million euros in the first half) to be consistent with the cash flow generation target of 0.5 billion euros over the year.
