Vinci: contract for water reservoir in Canada
(CercleFinance.com) - Through its earthmoving subsidiary dedicated to major projects, Vinci Construction has announced that it will build the Springbank water reservoir, located 15 km west of Calgary, for the Canadian province of Alberta.
This project will protect the residents of Calgary and its surroundings by diverting and temporarily storing water from the Elbow River during floods, in order to avoid floods such as those that occurred in 2013.
The 379 million Canadian dollar (263 million euro) project is expected to take three years to complete. The project strengthens Vinci's local presence in Canada, where it generated 1.6 billion euros in revenues in 2021.
