Vinci: set to invest in Lisbon airport

(CercleFinance.com) - Vinci today announces that ANA (Aéroportos de Portugal), its concession subsidiary that operates ten airports in Portugal, has signed an agreement with the Portuguese government, which has adopted the main principles for the increase in airport capacity in the region of Lisbon.

Vinci said that this agreement, which finalises the consensus reached between both parties on the main technical, operational and financial parameters of the project, as well as regarding developments in future economic regulations, marks a major step in the expansion of Lisbon's airport capacity. Its terms will be resumed in the rider to the concession contract, which is set to be signed in 2019, once environmental authorisations have been obtained.

Under the agreement, ANA is committed, inter alia, to investing 1.15 billion euros by 2028, of which 650 million euros will be in the first phase of the extension of Lisbon's existing airport, and 500 million euros for the construction of a new civil airport in Montijo, 25 kilometres from the city centre.
