Vinci: photovoltaic plant projects in Senegal.
(CercleFinance.com) - Vinci Energies, through its Omexom energy transition brand, has announced that it has been selected by the Senegal Electricity Company (Senelec) to build eight photovoltaic plants in Senegal, with a total capacity of 17 MW, over a period of 10 months.
The French construction and concessions group says this project represents an investment of 26.8 million euros, financed by the German bank KFW and Sénélec, and is due for delivery in July 2018.
Including 62,850 solar panels, these new plants, which are spread over four major regions, will produce enough electricity for the annual consumption of 140,000 inhabitants and will avoid an atmospheric discharge of 18,919 tonnes of CO2 per year.
