Plastic Omnium: wins hydrogen storage contract

(CercleFinance.com) - Plastic Omnium has announced that it has won a contract to develop and produce hydrogen storage systems for Dutch truck manufacturer VDL as part of the European H2HAUL project.

The automotive supplier will provide a complete seven-tank system for VDL trucks by 2021, storing 40 kg of hydrogen at 350 bars. In 2021, VDL will supply four of the 16 trucks of the H2HAUL project, which will travel several million kilometres.

"The Group estimates the production will grow up to 2 million vehicles in 2030. Plastic Omnium is accelerating its investments to be a leader in zero-carbon hydrogen-fueled mobility solutions, from storage to fuel cell systems," it said.
