Veolia: commissions 3 power plants in Brazil
(CercleFinance.com) - Veolia is commissioning three new power plants at three of its waste recovery centres in the states of Sao Paulo and Santa Catarina in Brazil.
These units will produce 12,400 kW of renewable electricity from biogas, produced by the decomposition of organic waste. They will cover the electricity and heating needs of a city of about 42,000 inhabitants in Brazil.
The group said that it is also studying other solutions for the recovery of biogas in the country, including the production of biomethane for use in the natural gas network or as a motor fuel.
