Veolia: confirmed in its rights by the courts
(CercleFinance.com) - Veolia announces that a new court decision by the Paris Court of Appeal confirms the company's rights and dismisses Suez's claims.
The legality of Veolia's acquisition of 29.9% of Suez is confirmed today, Veolia says, adding that its positions have been confirmed on several occasions since 3 February.
Veolia therefore says that it " could validly acquire, on October 5, 2020, 29.9% of the share capital of Suez held by Engie".
This acquisition has paved the way for a tender offer for the remainder of the capital that Veolia does not hold.
Veolia stated that it recovered its shareholder rights on 3 February 2021 and filed a takeover bid on 8 February for Suez's entire capital to complete the merger between both groups.
