EssilorLuxottica: promising results for Stellest lens
(CercleFinance.com) - The world leader in ophthalmic lenses, Essilor recently launched the Stellest lens, a new generation of ophthalmic lenses designed to combat myopia.
The results of the first year of clinical tests highlight the effectiveness of this lens: myopia declines by over 60% on average in children, compared to wearing unifocal lenses.
These promising results were unveiled at the Worldwide Connect 2020 international virtual congress of the WSPOS (World Society of Pediatric Ophthalmology and Strabology), of which Essilor is a "Gold" sponsor.
The result of three decades of scientific research, the Stellest lens incorporates a pioneering new technology called "H.A.L.T.". (Highly Aspherical Lenslet Target), a constellation of aspherical microlenses spread over 11 rings: as such, the lens' action slows down myopia.
