Peugeot: merged group to be called 'Stellantis'
(CercleFinance.com) - While their planned 50:50 merger is going according to schedule, Peugeot and Fiat Chrysler Automobiles announce that the corporate name of the new group will be "Stellantis", the name of the Latin word "stello" which means cover with stars.
This name will be used exclusively at the group level as a corporate brand. The next step in the process will be the disclosure of its logo, which, with the name, will become the new car maker's brand identity.
The planned merger should be finalised in the first quarter of 2021, subject to the usual closing conditions, including shareholders' approval and meeting regulatory requirements.
