Peugeot: wants to guarantee Opel a lasting future
(CercleFinance.com) - Following talks between Carlos Tavares, chairman of PSA Group's board of directors, and Michael Lohscheller, the chairman and CEO of Opel, with the German Ministers of the Economy and Labor, Peugeot has confirmed the shared desire to ensure a sustainable future of Opel.
Based on current speculation, it confirms that Opel currently complies with all existing collective agreements regarding production, with an investment plan set to be implemented as soon as performance criteria are met.
PSA adds that "We trust that, through the co-determination process, an agreement can be found with our German union partners in the best interest of our employees," after performance agreements that have already been signed in other countries.
