PSA: contract with Danish group Universal Robots
(CercleFinance.com) - A Danish manufacturer of lightweight robots and a pioneer in the field of collaborative robotics worldwide, Universal Robots has been chosen by the PSA Group to integrate the assembly line of the Sochaux plant (Doubs), which produces Peugeot 3008 models, we learned in a press release on Wednesday.
In order to improve the economic performance of the factories and ergonomics of workstations, the carmaker has integrated the UR10 robotic arm for complex screwing operations. The robot's task is to screw the bottom of the vehicle's wings, without hindering surrounding operators who are working on other screwing operations.
This contract with Universal Robots is part of the PSA Group's "Excellent Plant for the Future" project, which aims to modernise its production tools, compact sites and reduce the cost price of vehicles.
