Groupe PSA: Harman chosen to design cybersecurity strategy
(CercleFinance.com) - Harman International, whose high-end audio systems feature in Audi, BMW and Porsche cars, said on Wednesday that it will build a comprehensive cybersecurity strategy for Groupe PSA's next-generation connected and autonomous vehicles.
Harman - which is now owned by Samsung - said at the Geneva International Motor Show that the deal with the second largest car maker in Europe is spanning across multiple projects, from analysing potential threats to security design.
Harman made a move on the cyber security market in 2016 by acquiring TowerSec, an Israel-based company specialising in network protection for connected vehicles.
In a recent report, IHS Markit estimates that cybersecurity software and services revenues will exceed 250 million dollars by 2020.
