Peugeot: EU approves acquisition of Opel.
(CercleFinance.com) - Unsurprisingly, the European competition authorities have given their approval to the joint acquisition of the financial activities of Opel and Vauxhall by the PSA Group and BNP Paribas, it was announced after trading on Wednesday.
For the record, the signing of this planned acquisition and the long-term strategic partnership for the Opel and Vauxhall brands was announced on 6 March this year, as part of the acquisition of Opel/Vauxhall by the French car maker.
This operation also requires approval from the European banking authorities, whose decision is expected by the end of 2017.
