Thales: contract for radios with Austrian army
(CercleFinance.com) - French defence electronics group Thales announced Monday that it will supply radio systems to the Austrian armed forces.
Thales said it had signed a contract with the Austrian Ministry of Defence worth an estimated E10m for the supply of around 2,500 tactical radios.
After Belgium, this is the second significant order obtained by Thales in the European military market.
The "SquadNet" radio system provides secure communications for infantry by integrating programmable encryption capabilities, based on GPS and Bluetooth technologies.
