Thales: chosen for anti-drones by DGA

(CercleFinance.com) - The consortium led by Thales and CS GROUP has been awarded a contract by the French Defence Procurement Agency (DGA) for the production and deployment of the PARADE anti-drone capability, worth a total of 350 million euros over 11 years, of which 33 million euros is firm to date.

The PARADE modular and multi-mission system aims to detect, classify and neutralise micro and mini-UAVs in a secure manner. It can be used for temporary deployment, for the protection of a fixed site or projected in external operations.

The PARADE system will notably reinforce the security of the public and the infrastructures of two sporting events taking place in France: the 2023 Rugby World Cup and the 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games.

The first order is for the acquisition of six PARADE anti-drone systems. By integrating French SMEs such as CerbAir, Exavision and MC2 Technologies as well as the Dutch company Robin, the PARADE system provides decision-making and understanding of complex situations and will be able to neutralise micro-drones and mini-drones.
