Thales: avionics solutions chosen for an airship
(CercleFinance.com) - Thales has announced that Flying Whales has selected its certifiable avionics solutions, namely the dual-screen version of its FlytX avionics suite and its latest generation critical flight control computer, for its first LCA60T airship.
These solutions will provide the necessary capabilities to ensure safe flight and optimal manoeuvrability, Thales said, which will work closely with Flying Whales to achieve qualification of the LCA160T's onboard technologies by 2024.
To help ensure a more sustainable future, the LCA60T (Large Capacity Airship - 60 tonnes) is designed to carry up to 60 tonnes of cargo, loading and unloading while hovering to serve hard-to-reach locations.
