Thales: contract with Deutsche Bahn
(CercleFinance.com) - Thales has been selected by Deutsche Bahn to implement Modules 1 and 2 of the "Stuttgart Digital Node" project by the end of 2025.
The contract, which is worth approximately 127 million euros, covers the installation of the digital signal box and the ETCS system, preparatory work for the implementation of track-side automatic train control and the Capacity & Traffic Management System (CTMS).
It also includes the delivery of a modern technical operations centre, well over 6,000 kilometres of electronic bollards, more than 1,300 axle counting points and around 650 switch controls.
The Stuttgart Digital Node project won by Thales is part of the Digital Rail in Germany program, which plans to increase rail traffic by over 20% in the network, the group said.
