Thales: contract with French Army for electronic warfare
(CercleFinance.com) - Thalès has announced that the French Defense Procurement Agency (DGA) has awarded it and Airbus a contract for the tactical inter-army Electro-Magnetic Intelligence System (ROEM).
This system, which will renew capacity for listening, direction-finding and exploitation of the electromagnetic spectrum, is vital for the French Army, Thalès said.
This 10-year contract will equip the three armies with a common information and sensor system.
This is a major-effect program (MEP) within the framework of the Inter-army Tactical ROEM system, which will provide the French command with an enhanced tactical electronic support capability, notably by listening to and locating enemy communications.
