Thales: high-security passports for Belgium
(CercleFinance.com) - Thales has announced that the Belgian Federal Public Service Foreign Affairs has renewed its contract with the consortium that includes Zetes and Thales for the delivery of highly secure electronic passports to Belgian citizens.
The new passport produced by Thales will be completely redesigned. It will feature a new design for its visa pages, sophisticated security features and a modernised data page made entirely of polycarbonate.
The contract will run for seven years, with an expected production of 550,000 passports per year on average.
